Crush the orangutan

Too much sugar today?

Change is hard, but it's worth it 🙌

How it works

Answer one question

Every day, Crush the orangutan asks: too much sugar today? Tap yes or no. That’s the whole workout.

Understand your cravings

Optionally note what you had — that extra slice, the after-dinner candy. Patterns appear, guilt doesn’t.

Collect apes, not streaks

Clean days attract new apes to your planet. A slip never resets you to zero — your apes are always a few good days away.

New in 2027

The question is the same. The app can now look at the plate — and keep watch on your nightstand.

A scanned carrot cake in No Treat Today: Crush counts four sugar cubes and asks “Too much sugar?”

Photograph your plate

Crush identifies the food and counts its sugar in cubes. Guess before he does if you like. Nothing is logged until you tap YES or NO.

How scanning works
The sugar jar: twelve cubes, 48 g, just under the WHO’s 50 g limit

Your own red line

Six cubes a day is the allowance. Past a ceiling you set yourself, the day turns red — with the WHO’s 50 g line drawn beside it.

The Bedside Clock: Crush asleep under the time, with a Set an alarm button

A Bedside Clock

Crush sleeps beside the time. Set a real alarm: it rings even with the app closed or the phone on silent, and shows up in StandBy.

How to set it up

Scanning needs iOS 27 and a device with Apple Intelligence; the Bedside Clock needs iOS 26.1. Every screen also folds with the iPhone Duo.

Frequently asked questions

How do I stop sugar cravings?

Cravings fade when you notice them instead of fighting them: eat regular meals, drink water first, and break the habit moments (the 3pm office snack, the after-dinner treat). No Treat Today helps you spot those patterns by tracking each craving with a simple yes or no.

Learn more

How long do sugar cravings last?

An individual craving usually passes in 10–20 minutes. Overall, most people report cravings dropping sharply after about four weeks of eating less sugar — which is exactly the kind of progress the app makes visible.

Learn more

Can I quit sugar without going cold turkey?

Yes — gradual reduction is more sustainable for most people. No Treat Today is built for it: clean days don’t have to be consecutive, and a treat never resets your progress to zero.

Learn more

Do I have to count calories or log every food?

No. You answer one question — “too much sugar today?” — with a yes or a no. You can note what you had, or photograph the plate and let Apple Intelligence count the sugar cubes, but nothing is required: no calorie counting, no barcodes.

Learn more

What happens if I break my streak?

Nothing dramatic — that’s the point. Your collected apes stay with you, and your next clean days keep counting. Diets fail when one slip feels like starting over; No Treat Today never punishes you for being human.

Learn more

Does it work for alcohol and snacks too?

Yes. You define what counts as “sugar”: sugary drinks, fast food, snacks, alcohol, or anything you want to cut back on. Many people use it to track alcohol-free days.

Is quitting sugar good for longevity?

It’s one of the most agreed-on levers: less added sugar supports metabolic health over the long run. It’s also just one lever — I compared the best app for each, from plants to eating windows, with No Treat holding down the sugar spot.

See the comparison

Can it count the sugar in a photo?

On iOS 27, yes. Photograph your plate and Apple Intelligence suggests the foods; the app counts their sugar in cubes against a daily ceiling you set, and you still confirm with a YES or NO tap. Photos go through Private Cloud Compute, so they are never stored or used for training.

How scanning works

What is the Bedside Clock?

A clock where Crush sleeps beside the time, with a real alarm that rings even when the app is closed or your iPhone is on silent. It needs iOS 26.1, shows up in StandBy and on the Lock Screen, and opens from Siri or the Action button.

How to set it up

Is No Treat Today free?

The app is free to download and use. Unlocking every feature and all the collectible apes requires a subscription or a one-time purchase — no ads either way.
